San Francisco – For Paloma Contreras, it’s all about the “beautiful, bespoke details,” such as appliqué Swiss knots on bedding and pillows and a hand-painted ikat pattern.
The collaborative collection between Williams Sonoma Home and the Houston-based award-winning interior designer launches this week in select stores and online with bedding, home décor, and lighting that showcase Contrera’s signature style.
In her blog, dubbed “La Dolce Vita,” Contreras said she spent the past two years working on the 19-piece collection, “a direct reflection of my modern-meets-traditional aesthetic.” She added: “You’ll find a lot of references to the classic design motifs I love which we reinterpreted in a fresh, modern way – chinoiserie, a custom-designed ikat print, hexagonal shapes, black and white stripes, and a super chic Greek key pattern that we used on the most fabulous bedding as well as on some throw pillows.”
The home textiles component of the Paloma Contreras for Williams Sonoma Home collaboration includes:
• Greek Key Bedding Collection and Pillow Covers, starting at $79.00
• Animal Embroidered Linen Pillows, $99.00
• Printed Linen Pillows, $99.00
Other items include mirrors, obelisk sculptures, a decorative silver orb, a vase, a tray, a pendant and a decorative lantern.
“My goal was to design pieces based off of things that I love and use repeatedly in my projects,” she said. “Each piece is strong enough to stand on its own, but it all works together very cohesively. This has been a labor of love and I hope you love it as much as I do.”
Added Janet Hayes, president of Williams Sonoma Home: “We love collaborating with designers that bring a unique point of view to our assortment.”
